Who am I...

Hello, my name is Nicole and first I am a daughter to parents I refer to as "Love Birds" since the first day they both said "I do." While never getting used to the term "wife", my next milestone role, we are coming up on our 21st anniversary next month, time does fly by when having fun! My most favorite and most challenging role as Mom is a mystery and everyday I try to make a fresh start. We have two middle schoolers under one roof, our daughter, 14 years old and attending 8th grade and our son, 11 years old attending 6th grade. Lots of emotions happen within a matter of seconds at this age, so our household is chaotic and crazy most of the time. In addition to these milestone markers, I decided to add more crazy to my life and entered graduate school about one year ago.
My Current Role is...
Library Paraprofessional in a suburban middle school fell into my lap at just the right time in my life to begin a second career. This will be my third full year in this position. Opportunities presented to me made it possible for the employer to provide support to return to graduate school and attain a Master's of Library and Information Science Degree while still working. My first career was as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in both an acute care setting in the hospital and in an out-patient hand clinic. Like many career changers, Covid plus much thought, led me to the idea of returning to school and achieving a degree towards my dream job of becoming a School Librarian.
I would like you to know...
For most people that know me, it is not a secret that I am not a fan of technology. At times computers, lap tops, even my cell phone can make me feel trapped and out of control like Will Ferrell in the movie Anchorman in the Glass case of emotion:

This is exactly how I felt just prior to beginning this post. Initially, I started this post two hours before this second attempt. The first attempt was far enough along to get this upset that it had been erased then deleted and unable to be retrieved, as far as I could investigate.
Ironically, the Library Para position that I currently hold a title too, was created to primarily manage the students chrome book issues by trouble-shooting software issues, perform minor chrome book repairs, power wash chrome books as needed and write up any chrome book issues that are beyond my repair for the school's IT tech. The Librarian pushed for this position so she can complete her other duties as Librarian as multiple student chrome book issues are a daily event. The other duties she needs to focus on are collaborating with teachers and students to create relevant lesson supplementation as library activities.
